每年全球针对游戏产业举办大大小小的颁奖仪式，但美国互动艺术科学协会(以下简称AIAS协会)所举办的一年一度“AIAS年度最佳游戏”评选可就具有全球知名的公正性。因为AIAS协会是全球知名的机构，负责评选每年针对电脑、游戏、音乐、出版品...等评选优秀产品，而且配合每年三月在美国举办的“游戏开发者会议GDC”，更凸显这个游戏颁奖的重要性。
